Kitchener School of Medicine was established, in the year 1924, in the memory of Lord H. Kitchener, the Governor General of the Sudan from the year 1898 to 1900, who drowned in 1916.
The first batch graduated from Kitchener School of Medicine in the year 1928.
Kitchener School of Medicine joined Khartoum University College in September of the year 1951. After the Independence in 1956, the University College became the University of Khartoum and the Kitchener School of Medicine became the Faculty of Medicine.
The Faculty of Medicine offers both post-graduate and under-graduate studies.
The Faculty offers courses for first degrees leading to the following qualifications:
The Degree of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B,B.S) of the University of Khartoum
