Sudan condemns Saddams execution

Khartoum, Dec. 31, (Sudan.Net) -- The Sudanese government has condemned the execution of former Iraqi President, Saddam Hussein, tipping the act a kind of drama. Sudanese Presidential Adviser, Dr. Nafae Ali Nafae said Saddams murder was meant to ignite sectarian conflicts in Iraq.

A statement issued by the foreign affairs ministry this evening said the former Iraqi president was not sentenced at the nation’s will or decision. It said the haste in which the sentence was executed revealed that there were political interests behind it and not the delivery of justice.

Saddam was a patriotic man who loved Iraq and its people, he noted, calling on the Iraqis to unify their ranks to defeat the Zionist-US agenda aiming at Iraqs disunion and instability.
