Khartoum praises Kuwait''s support for Sudan KUWAIT, July 23 (KUNA) -- Sudanese Presidential Envoy Dr. Ghazi Salah Al-Din here Wednesday praised Kuwait's support for Khartoum, particularly during an urgent Arab foreign ministers' meeting to discuss the International Criminal Court (ICC) chief prosecutor's demand of an arrest warrant against Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir. Salah Al-Din, at a news conference in the Sudanese embassy building, said he delivered a message from Al-Bashir to His Highness the Deputy Amir and Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-sabah over the impacts of the arrest warrant. This warrant, he said, was a "shame from legal and moral points of view," and aimed at "weakening the Sudanese Presidential institute." Salah Al-Din called for handling the ICC issue with caution. The conflict in Darfur is a Sudanese problem, said Salah Al-Din. He underlined importance of reaching "a political solution acceptable by everyone ... and within the Sudanese judiciary." |
