Arab lawyers'' union condemns violence in Sudan CAIRO, May 13 (KUNA) -- Secretariat of the Arab Lawyers' Union expressed Tuesday its grave concern at the violence in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, and the attempt by the Justice and Equality Movement (JEM) to execute a coup. In a statement, it strongly condemned the attempted coup and declared it a stark violation of Sudanese laws and international conventions, adding that the party that financed the rebels had become known to the Arab, African and international public. It called on the African Union and the international community to take action against this coup, and called on the Sudanese and Chadian governments to exercise self-restraint and to employ peaceful measures to resolve their differences. |
