South Sudan: Same Name, Same Flag

SPLM/SPLA Flag that is currently used as South Sudan
South Sudan: Same Name, Same Flag
Gabriel Makuei Tor -  March 10
The SPLM/A current flag adapted during the revolution time was agreed upon by our fighters; whoever is against it now was against us during the civil war.

Congratulation to South Sudan Legislative Assembly for approving the name South Sudan as the official name for now and may be forever, for the new Country (South Sudan). Why would you change your original name? Name is just a material thing, but we must have the change of minds and hearts before we fight to change hardware stuff.

Those who have failed the region South Sudan to succeed earlier than later and even failed themselves, not to remain in Khartoum for decades with their treason suit on - wanted to distort the South's story, which was written by the blood of our patriots. There have been voices calling for the name South Sudan to be changed; which many people didn’t see the reason of changing it. Eventually the name is officially approved. Many thanks to the SSLA.

The issue of the new nation’s name is dealt and done with, whereas the SPLM/SPLA’s Flag is another twist waiting for the legislators’ approval.

I want them to take the same nerve to prove SPLM/SPLA’s Flag as the South Sudan’s national and official Flag. Because this flag is beautiful like none before, though many flags have been used since 1950's during those revolutions against Khartoum’s flag on a quest home for freedom, justice and equality. This flag is the most beautiful of them all with the honor of our fallen comrades on it. I have seen some flags which some Southerners are suggesting to be used as official flag for South Sudan, but those flags are not competitive in anyway – the current SPLM Flag has the integrity, boldness and gallant of our heroes, heroines and patriots – who stood the ground against the devilish and autocratic Khartoum government. It must remain.

“We have been disoriented by our lives in the displace and refugee camps, during the civil war, which has resulted into us taking things for granted” – anonymous.

Those who claim that all parties have to be involved in choosing the Southern National flag, because the current SPLM flag is a one party thing and yes we were one party, one people, before you becomes a traitor and multiply into those nine parties - with the claim now in the City-State, Juba. That reasoning is an insane and unpatriotic. There is no example of this, where all the citizens and parties are asked to prove the flag, to make it national and democratic.

Those who have done nothing to Southerners than killing them during  those decades of revolution are feeling their shame and wanted to do something to add their names in the book. These are the same folks who sided with Northern Sudan government for unity of Sudan with allusion of no independent South Sudan at the recent Referendum preparation, calling South a failed State and now it has not failed, so they want to fail it with their ill wishes.

And again they wanted to walk out of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) Constitutional Review in Juba, let them walk the hell out with their confusion and conspiracy; they never brought in anything, so they will still take nothing away with them. You cannot claim Juba’s corruption to get advantage out of it, but your killing of our innocent lives is more evil than that corruption.

They called themselves nine parties in the South, but they are nine Omar El Bashir’s Messengers.
