Kiir Orders Transfer of Sudanese Prisoners to Juba to Free Them

Khartoum - South Sudan Embassy in Khartoum has announced that President Salva Kiir Mayardit has issued a decree to transfers all Sudanese national convicts, serving different terms in Southern Sudan provincial  prisons, to the federal prison in Juba in preliminary to release them later. 

Spokesperson for the embassy Gabriel Deng said in statements to Sudan News Agency (SUNA) regarded the step as good will and positive response to President Al Bashir’s recent decision to quash sentences for Southern Sudanese inmates in Khartoum and to transfer them to their country. 

 


Deng expected the new decision will go into effect soon as relations between the two countries have recently been characterized by mutual confidence and cooperation over the recent past in favor of the peoples in the countries
