We Succeeded in Attracting Companies to Invest in Mining: Minister SUNA - March 15
Khartoum - The Minister of Minerals, Kamal Abdul-Latif, has affirmed success of his ministry in making breakthrough in the relations with many countries around the world by attracting companies from them to invest in the mining sector in Sudan.
He pointed out to the partnerships with Russian, Canadian, British and German companies. That is in addition to a number of European and American companies which are now operating in the mining sector in Sudan.
Abdul-Latif said, during his address to the Sudanese geologists working for mining companies recently, that the country was by now in a dire need for the mining sector which its returns are employed in the import of essential goods and medicines. He stressed at the same time, opening the doors of his ministry to full cooperation with the Sudanese geologists through provision of all requirements that contribute to the upgrading of the Sudanese minerals.
On his part, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Minerals Abbas Al-Sheikh revealed existence of 8 countries working on Al-Bashir Project for Mineral Exploration in Sudan, pointing out to some of the challenges facing the ministry.
He announced readiness Ariab Company to enter into its second venture for copper production, which its reserves are estimated at million tons.
