The President was accompanied by Presidential Assistant Dr. Nafie, the minister at the presidency, Lt. Gen. Bakri Hassan Salih; the Minister of Electricity and Water Resources, Osama Abdalla; Governor Lt. Gen. Al-Hadi Abdallah of River Nile state; and members of his government.
During his visit, President Al Bashir inaugurated the Lecture Compound at Shendi University, the courts' complex in Shendi, Al-Fayet agricultural scheme in Shendi area, the services compound of Osman Mohamed Al-Toam in Mattama (AlKimair), and an electricity project at Al-Kemair Tayeba agricultural scheme. The President also inaugurated new train locomotives and inspected the gold production of the Moroccan Mining Companies at Wadi Gabgaba in Abu-Hamad.
In Mattama, the President inaugurated the Haj Attoam Islamic Compound which includes a centre for Qur’annic recitation, two basic schools, Haj Mahmoud Qur’annic School a water station, and Dr. Magzoub Al-Khalifa Maternity Welfare Centre Wednesday.
President Al Bashir also launched an extension of electricity power to Al-Kemair and Al-Fayed Agricultural Schemes in the Mattama area.
Al Bashir boasted that Sudan will never be ruled by a “traitor” or “agent”. “The Kampala Document is like a foundling,” Al Bashir said in his speech at a mass rally Wednesday at Al-Kimair, Mattama area. President Al Bashir said that development projects in Sudan are the real response to the claims of the writers of the document who are waiting for Israel, Uganda and the West to put them in power.
President Al Bashir asserted the state’s keenness to end poverty and backwardness in Sudan by expanding projects and completing services and infrastructure projects.
River Nile
He claimed that many foreign entities are showing interest in investing in Sudan. He boasted that River Nile will top the exporters of agricultural projects to Europe, Saudi Arabia and the whole world.
Meanwhile, President Al Bashir awarded the Nilein Order (Second Class) to Osman Mahmoud Attoum and Abdulmunim Abdul-Raouf Al-Hiday in recognition of their charitable contributions in education, welfare, health and development.
The President met leaders of political parties throughout the state and commanders and officers of the artillery corps in Atbara.
He addressed several mass rallies at Kemair Al-Uwadiya in Mattama and Abu-Hamad. He also attended the cultural festival at the land port in Atbara.
In Atbara, Al Bashir has pledged to sponsor the railways rehabilitation plan which was approved by the Council of Ministers to overcome the US’ unjust ban on the Sudan Railways Corporation.
President Al Bashir, who was addressing Sudan Railways Corporation employees in Atbara Thursday, said the US’ ban is a crime against the people of Sudan. He called it immoral and unjustified.
The President lauded Korean and Chinese partnerships in the railways projects, calling on the Sudan Railways Administration to go ahead with the implementation of all railways related-projects.
The President also visited Abuhamad and addressed a mass rally there. He has affirmed the provision of requested funding to include Abuhamad in the National Electricity Network. In his speech, the President claimed the commitment of the Sudanese government to the values of Islam. The Minister of Mining has indicated that the mining map which was prepared by the ministry proved the provision of twenty varieties of ready-for exploration in 800 sites and there are 91 traditional mining companies.
