Abdulgadir said that the repercussions of the secession of South Sudan did not affect the gum Arabic production zone, considering South Sudan has a tropical temperature and gum Arabic production zones are concentrated in the rich and poor savannah in central Sudan.
He added: "The gum Arabic production zone makes up about 5.000 square kilometres in ten of the Sudanese states, stretching from the Sudanese Ethiopian border on the east to the Sudanese Chadian border on the west."
The gum Arabic council submits a final report on gum Arabic production every three years. It has submitted its first cycle report which concluded December 2012.
