Sudan Has to Reconsider Diplomatic Ties with Uganda
Sudan Vision -  February 21
Last week, the ruling National Congress Party (NCP), called for reducing diplomatic representation between Khartoum and Kampala.  NCP Spokesman, Prof. Ahmad Badr Al-Din Ibrahim said that it is necessary to review diplomatic representation with Uganda for its unwavering support for military activists, adding that Uganda has become an enemy state.

The Sudanese-Ugandan relations throughout the last two and a half decades have been tense due to President Museveni's insistence on antagonizing Sudan by all means. Khartoum is angry at the Ugandan hostile behaviour, but it hasn't decided yet to reduce or break diplomatic ties,President Museveni, wickedly, has exploited the geographical location of his country as non neighbouring country to Sudan o move freely and to arrive at anti Sudan intelligence and military deals.

Museveni has been harbouring the South Sudanese rebels since the late Dr John Garang, the leader of SPLA. In 1995, it contributed in the "torrential rains" operation which the Sudanese army has foiled.

Following the repeated defeats by Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) led by Joseph Kony, Uganda has resorted to Sudan to reach security agreement to pursue LRA fighters and eliminate their pockets.

Museveni resorted to Juba to hep him to carry out subversive act against Sudan by harbouring Sudan Liberation Movement-North and the so called Sudan Revolutionary Front.

Hei has also played  a dirty game when he assured the International Criminal Court in writing that he would cooperate to arrest President Al Bashir and other Sudanese officials.
In fact, maintaining this sort of diplomatic ties is meaningless. What’s the benefit of the diplomatic relations, whether full or partial, if anti Khartoum activities are carried out from Kampala? The Ugandan capital has become the stronghold of anti Sudan armed opposition. The Ugandan authorities have never mentioned or denied this fact.

Sudan is facing hostile acts which violate all international laws and norms. Perhaps, Khartoum is acting patiently for some considerations, but this will eventually come to an end soon. Sudan has to reconsider its diplomatic representation with the Museveni's  regime because Uganda will never change or give up its aggressive policy.
