Two Arrested in Protests Against Sudan Forum in Germany
Radio Dabanga -  January 30
Berlin — German authorities arrested two Sudanese nationals on Tuesday who were protesting against the Sudan economic forum in front of the German Federal Foreign Office in Berlin.

Ibrahim Omar, told Radio Dabanga the dozens of demonstrators blocked the road to the Office to prevent the Sudanese delegation from attending the economic forum.

Omar said "all Sudanese in Berlin joined the protest against the conference and against Khartoum".

The Sudanese regime, he continued, is "guilty of committing genocide and crimes against humanity in Darfur, Nuba Mountains and Blue Nile".

On Monday, Radio Dabanga reported that international human rights organizations and Hawa Mohamed Saleh, a Sudanese activist, were calling on the German government to cancel the forum.

Saleh said Khartoum must be isolated and that Germany should not hold a Sudan conference in its territory. She noted the human rights record of that country should prevent it from belonging to the international community and from having international support.
