Sudan to Organise First International Tourism Exhibition
Sudan Vision -  January 16
Khartoum – Tourism, Antiquities and Wildlife Minister Abdul Karim Al-Hud said Sudan's first international exhibition for tourism, travelling and shopping will be organised in mid March.

Speaking in an interview to Sudan Vision to be published later, he said the exhibition will give a strong fillip to tourism promotion in the country. He said the Ministry of Information and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs continue to try to promote tourism in Sudan.

He said this year they will focus on domestic tourism, stating that camps have been prepared to receive delegations. He said shops within game parks such as Dindir have been established for Sudanese and foreign tourists to shop.

On securing tourist sites, he said the tourism police and security are tasked to protect tourist areas, and they are working effectively to do so. He said the police must be beefed up to provide better protection, and the Ministry of Tourism is trying to establish new units for tourism police in Kassala and Gedarif in collaboration with relevant bodies.

In order to combat smuggling, the minister said that whoever finds historic precious metals will be compensated financially.
