Resource-Rich Africa, Who will Protect the Wealth?

Resource-Rich Africa, Who will Protect the Wealth?
Mohammed Abdallah -  June 06
Despite the fertility of resource-rich Africa and the power of its many natural resources, the continent has a high rate of poverty; a looming water crisis and a shortage of food.

The continent has a number of rivers and lakes such as the river Nile, Tana and Victoria Lakes, and cultivates a variety of food sources but worries about food security.

Who will protect Africa’s sources from those who seek it for their own interests, for those reasons behind the interference of multi-national companies and envoys from different European and African countries bring their handbags, pens, papers and reports not for the sake of African community but by means of tourism.

Africa worries about tribal conflicts and disputes. The premature of the nation state and fragility of government’s system all to be tackled and handed through some strategic smart cooperation and coordination to protect resource-rich Africa and keep its wealth, a high level of coordination is needed to meet the crisis and problems.

Sudan hosted the Eighth Committee of Intelligence and Security Services of Africa (CISSA) because its experiences in development and infrastructure position it to do so.

Politically, Sudan adopted a multi party system and solved the longest dispute in Africa between the north and the south through the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA).

Many things that participant in CISSA conference can get from Sudan, the most important point that African countries can learn from Sudan is the elections and the referendum.

These two events considered as a difficult test to Sudanese security bodies which succeeded excellently. There were no clashes, no deaths and no violence. African countries can benefit from this security experience which let Sudan to be a peaceful country if we compare it with many African countries that witnessed a lot of problems by means of elections and practicing democracy.
