Early this year of 2011 of our Lord, Government of Southern Sudan formed a committee to review and amend the Interim Constitution where necessary, in preparedness for Possible Independence due in July all political parties were to participate in this national building processes, However, after few days the opposition political parties decided to walk out from the constitution review committee. Public is aware as to how you” left in for out” during this historic and difficult moment for this country. I do not support any Nation that is single party or being monarchial in its governance, but a democratic country where Bill of rights is comprehensively addressed, however, I would not support any opposition parties that do not know their civic rights. Southern Sudan opposition parties seems to have no idea of when to shout or and match out from negotiations, even if they go to countries where Democracy was founded, ruling parties always try to establish favorable constitution best suits their interest whereas the Opposition parties would therefore, push for comprehensive and Legal documents other than just walk out, to many others me inclusive, it is a sign of either the opposition parties are incompetent to negotiate for their rights or they are not relevant to South Sudan politics. In this constitution therefore, it has been stipulated that” This Constitution derives its authority from the will of the people and shall be the supreme law of the land. It shall have a binding force on all persons, institutions, organs and agencies of government throughout the Country”. [Republic of South Sudan constitution] As many citizens placed their hope on the opposition parties to correct on common mistakes committed the ruling party, the Sudan People Liberation Movement, Instead, South Sudan Opposition political parties have betrayed their members in the constitutional review. It worth nothing that opposition parties are now harvesting fruits of failure and thus licking thy wounds, it maybe or not be a profession to oppose but for the case of Southern Sudan opposition parties, their opposition appears natural in a sense that, they oppose any thing that comes their way since and during the liberation struggle. It is not surprising to see them protesting the Independence of the Republic of South Sudan on 9th July 2011. As the constitution has made it clear and viable that, anybody who tries to confuse public in the name of opposition party to achieve his/her selfish desire shall be dealt with and charged with treason. This is my own translation. All levels of government shall promote public awareness of this Constitution by translating it into national languages and disseminating it as widely as possible. They shall provide for the teaching of this Constitution in all public and private educational and training institutions as well as in the armed and other regular forces, by regularly transmitting and publishing programmes in respect thereof through the media and press. [Republic of South Sudan Constitution] There was one premises identified by both parties to have this constitution reviewed and possibly amended, South Sudan Opposition parties decided to match out from the constitutional review and amendments, they alleged the ruling party SPLM to have dominated the committee and other discontents. Opposition parties should notice it that the venue that they hopelessly vacated was the right place to politically fight for what they think should have been included in the constitution of the Republic of South Sudan, it is going to be a blunder for any person or group of individuals to gossip about during Sunday services in churches or and mosques on Fridays blaming the committee for constitutional review and possible amendments as well as the minister for Legal Affairs and constitutional development for being head of a committee which was not represented well during the constitutional review. The document will lead the people of South Sudan its land and natural resources across the other side which is a common interest of the people and friends around the globe. It is “The Transitional Constitutions of the Republic of South Sudan, 2011.” It is good for now and maybe for future.
